Cat writes engrossing, daring, fanciful romantic suspense. Jenn writes non-fiction.
When Cat is not taking over Jenn’s world with her mystical and enthralling prose, she bides her time at the Atlantic Ocean shore. She relishes in the fresh salt air and communes with eagles and herons.
It’s peaceful and creative. It frees her mind to explore riveting plots.
A book has to have an enthralling plot if it wants to be a Cat LaRoche. Only captivating storylines and compelling characters are allowed to spring forth from her pages.
It’s both a challenge and a delight.
The two goals Cat seeks to fulfil when writing her series are to keep her readers engaged and a little in love with the characters who guide her books. Tell Cat what you think makes a good book.
A little about Jenn (the alter ego of Cat):
Jenn Humphries is a professional public relations practitioner (retired early) who spends her time writing non-fiction to help people improve their worlds. Jenn graduated at the Top-of-Her-Program from Durham College and immediately jumped into television. It was there that Jenn stretched her creativity and learned from some of the best creative minds in the business. From television, Jenn moved into film and worked with the National Film Board of Canada in publicity and promotion until St. Michael’s Hospital lured her away to work in the public relations department.
Upon leaving St. Michael’s Hospital, Jenn started her own boutique agency, JC Humphries & Associates. There, she wrote grants for non-profits/charities and marketing collateral for businesses.
In 2014, a slip on a dock found Jenn flat on her face, and seriously injured.
It took her until 2024 to allow the ever-lurking and insistent Cat to spring from her box to finally write the romantic suspense she has wanted to write since starting her public relations training. Oh yeah, Jenn was also a banker for 10 years, a mortgage agent, a teacher of professionals and she sat on many social services boards. She is currently working on a series that will help people reset their lives…just as she had to learn how to do. jchumphries.com
